So I took my wife on a date to see “Avatar” in 3D. Have you seen it? Absolutely incredible movie. Scenery so rich it would make standing on a beach in Hawaii seem mediocre. Action and excitement so intense that it makes going to an Alabama football game seem complacent. I walked out of the theater with that strange “post experience” feel like you were somehow part of that world. Then the feeling hit. Wow, tomorrow looks boring!
I'm a big fan of entertainment, but the overwhelming of the senses has an effect of “post Hollywood depression” as you take off the 3D glasses and step back into reality. Do you know the feeling I'm describing? Maybe you get it watching a comedy, or a romance? You got it.
So how is this relevant to getting up and going in the morning? More than that, how does it apply to going at life like a mad rhino, mowing down adversity to reach your goals with pizazz?
That feeling that makes you want (or not want) to get up in the morning can all be summed up in HOPE. If one has a significant amount of hope for something, it manifests as excitement. Hollywood style excitement. Great people throughout history has created tremendous change in short periods of time. Do you think they did it by waking up in the morning and saying, “I really want to just stay in bed all day because then I wouldn't have to deal with all those difficult people and impossible problems”? Take your pick of the example and you'll see that behind their motive was a HOPE for the future. An image implanted deep in their soul of not what appears to be, not even what COULD be, but what WILL be.
Today, this week, this year, you have the opportunity to stop dwelling on what COULD be and begin to LIVE in what WILL be. You see HOPE is different than a WISH. A wish is something imaginary, yet often used as a synonym to hope. The bible doesn't describe Yeshua (Jesus) as the HOPE for mankind, not just a WISH. You see the difference in context?
So stop WISHING your dreams to come true. Where is your HOPE? What is it? Is it already TRUE in your mind? If not, make sure you get a free CD of my “Resolution to REVolution Audio Workshop”.
