Kairos (καιρÏŒς) is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment (the supreme moment). The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. While the former refers to chronological or sequential
time, the latter signifies a time in between, a moment of undetermined period of time in which something special happens. What the special something is depends on who is using the word. While chronos is quantitative, kairos has a qualitative nature. (Wikipedia)
While the above comes from Wikipedia, Kairos is actually a biblical term meaning “the pregnant moment”. Kairos time is not bound to time in terms of seconds, minutes, or days, but is a non-specific period of time when “everything changes”. Kairos is the term used to define the birth of Jesus for example. While yes it was a “moment” that could be recorded on a clock, the use of Kairos defines the true significance of the event.
If you were to look up Chiro-practic in a dictionary, ask a random “Chiropractic Physician”, or ask most Chiropractic College professors, you will be told that the root “chiro” means “by hand”. This of course is true. But here's what they won't likely tell you. The name Chiro is a combination of the Greek letters chi (χ) and rho (ρ), which are the first letters of Christos, the Greek form of
Christ.
It's important to understand all of this because Chiropractic was actually NAMED by Dr. Palmer's pastor. Do you really think after considering all the above that a PASTOR was thinking “oh, well since you use your hands...”? NO WAY! He KNEW what he was doing when he rightfully and properly named it. He KNEW that every time a bone is moved in the spine, it releases the flow of LIFE to be restored in the body, allowing the body to HEAL according to the way it was DESIGNED. He understood that the “above down inside out” PRINCIPLE puts GOD right at the center of what we call healthcare. He understood that for THAT PERSON being adjusted, it's a KAIROS moment when EVERYTHING about their future changes because LIFE is restored. He understood. Do you, or are we just knocking “criks” out “by hand”?
Chiropractic is not merely a “by hand only” practice of popping bones for that “ooh ahh” feeling. That may very well be what some doctors choose to practice, but NOT HERE. If it weren't for the sake of people reading my forms and thinking I can't spell, I would spell it KAIROpractic. We practice the above down inside out Principle of health and healing restoring GOD's children to their MAXIMIZED POTENTIAL, and EVERY time I lay my hands on you or your children's spines, it is a KAIROS moment when your entire future changes as a result of that restored function. But hey, the Chiropractor down the street is cheaper and takes your insurance huh? If that's what you want, go for it!
